Little Girl in a Blue Armchair

By: Mary Cassatt
Date: 1878
Medium: Oil on canvas
Size: 89.5 x 129.8 cm

Despite a limited color palette, Cassatt created a dynamic interplay of forms in a moment between rest and play. She reworked the painting with help from Edgar Degas and showed it in her debut Impressionist exhibition in 1879.
